The capacity to think...

Monday, March 8, 2010
Something inside me was telling me that the only solution is "thought"...

For days, one voice inside my head kept howling and sinking and the another kept challenging this... "so you loose faith in the world just because one insignificant 'you' did not get what 'you' thought was your purpose?"

The question is so loaded in every word, it needs to be broken down and understood in so many ways, debated and analyzed -  I thought - wait, I will come back to it, hold the thought... I know there is trouble, just hold for a bit....

But last night, even as the question had not formed in my head, I moved a step towards an answer, as if through a sign.... (yes in the days that I believed still, I saw signs all over the place..)

I saw a movie called "Inherit the Wind"

I am quoting from imbd: "Based on a real-life case in 1925, two great lawyers argue the case for and against a science teacher accused of the crime of teaching evolution" ; "This is another re-enactment of the play about the trial in 1925 of a school teacher who dared to teach Darwinian theory in his classroom. He did this as a consequence of one of his student's request to know... The student was a lad named 'Stebbins', and the trial (dubbed the 'Monkey Trial') pitted the great attorney of the day, Clarence Darrow, against the often running presidential candidate, and famous orator, William Jennings Bryan. Written by BOB STEBBINS." and here is the imdb link"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0196632/"

And here is my answer..... the question and my answer...

Matthew Harrison Brady: We must not abandon faith! Faith is the most important thing!
Henry Drummond: Then why did God plague us with the capacity to think?

It doesn't matter if the context is different, or even if it is similar... the thing is that we find ourselves scared without the power of our own beliefs; faith... and forget, that we have the capacity to think...

When you are losing faith, it is difficult to trust that you will be able to think, for one, you are scared, two, you are tired and three, in your head, you are defeated... and yet, the capacity to think exists!

It's a such a relief...

More later..
